Program for April 3rd

Foreign Invasion

Lad Akins, REEF’s Director of Special Projects, will talk about the recent invasion of Atlantic waters by Indo-Pacific lionfish. Lionfish are voracious predators with venomous spines that could cause significant impact to fisheries, tourism and public health. Lad will present ongoing research and ways for the public to assist with early detection and control. It is sure to be a ‘not to miss’ program.

Local Diving
                 With Larry Baum

Saturday April 12th
Lady Go Diver
Deerfield beach
Show @ 8:00 AM Go @ 8:30 AM
Cost $50

April is a busy, busy month for many of our members. Between Club social activities and other member conflicts it was tough to find a "best weekend" to schedule our April local dive. Knowing they'll be some inevitable conflicts whatever day I picked, I opted for a Saturday, April 12, 2008 dive with Dixie Divers on their Lady Go Diver, http://www.ladygodiver.net

LadyGoDiver

We dove with the Lady a number of times last year and it's a Club favorite. Price is $50 for a two tank dive which includes taxes, the famous brownies (and less famous fruit and trail mix). The price DOES NOT include tips for the crew which are up to each diver. Tanks, if needed, are $10 each for air and $14 each for Nitrox. The Lady goes out at a very respectable 8:30 AM on Saturdays, so we'll all need to be there by 8:00 AM. The boat holds up to 28 divers and I've initially asked for 12 spots. Please register as soon as possible so I'll know if I have to request more seats. The dive profile remains flexible (the more divers we have the better we can influence the outcome) so please let me know if you have recommendations I can pass along to the boat.

Looking forward to diving with everyone again in 2008!!!

The food was fabulous, the portions generous, and the service excellent. If you enjoy first-run movies, and you crave delicious food and desserts, this was the USA social event for you.
